Basketball -
Senior Boys:
The Senior boys basketball hosted a tournament at the Olds College, which included teams from across the province. Sadly, they made it to the final and lost to Holy Trinity, despite having beat them in a previous game. The team is now ranked 5th in the province, a formidable achievement. They also won a tournament in Ardrossen on February 15-16, and have been undeafeated at home for the past 5 years.
JV Boys:
Despite not having enough referees to play league this year, the boys team has played in a number of tournaments, including one this past weekend, in which they placed 6th.
Senoir Girls:
The Senoir Girls team is second in the league behind Carstairs, and has had an exceptional season, winning many games by considerable margins as well as winning their home tournament.
JV Girls:
The JV girls team played in a Didsbury tournament during the second weekend of Janunary, losing to FFCA out of Calgary, and to Acme. In their final game they beat Biesker 74-16 to claim 5th place. They lost a close game to Didsbury on February 12 58-46, and play them again on the 21st in Olds. They will finish second in their league behind Didsbury. As well, they won the consolation final at the Wetaskiwin Classic the weekend of February 15-16.
RUGBY

Mr. Grant's 19 girl rugby team is off to a good start this year. He has a dream about having 25 girls on the team but that is only a dream. Kate Blackett, Jackie Lupino, and Cherlyn Wheeler are all Mr. Grants assistants for this team. They practice Mondays and Wednesdays at the school at 6:30 am. Sorry boys it’s just a girls team and known football coaches say that girls rugby is more aggressive then most football teams…..WOW!!! Their first league game is in late April, with provincials on the second week of June. This hard hitting team is working on passing, tackling, and line play at this time. Yes, it started on February 15 BUT all you girls that want to play from grades 9-12 can come to practice and play. Mr. Grant wants you all to and there is no experience needed so don’t worry just come on out!!!!!
