Valentines Day
Peter Warrington
Valentines Day has come and gone, and there was a flurry of student council activity to accompany it. Firstly this year there was an alteration on the traditional candy grams, instead it was crush pop. There was also a heart game involving girls not talking to guys, Michelle proved to be especially good at this. On top of this there was a kissing both set up at lunch. The day following there was Anti-Valentines day with broken heart cookies and black clothing worn by students. The idea here was to celebrate the fact not all students like valentines day. However on the fiftieth Febuary there was a surprise anti-anti-valentines day movement. Where students wore pink to protest those how wearing black protesting those wearing pink. Bizarre. < xml="true" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" prefix="o" namespace="">
C.L.C Community Learning Campus
Emily Oswald
It’s the name for the partnership involved it represents many surrounding communities, the college, our school, Chinooks edge, and the County Mountain View. This new school will be full of education and the positive attitude we need. The buildings will offer many new and different styles of classes and a better program. Mr. Christensen has done a lot to make this happen to prepare the school and the students for the big move. The reason for the longer classes is in order to prepare for the new program. An explanation of the new program will resemble a “house” like a family in one area of mixed grades and ages together. When you are assigned a locker it is yours for the next 4 years. This program will have more emphasis on fitness and nutrition. It will have much more technology. Since we all know we can just go across the street to go out for lunch, and the big question is will we have the same option? Well actually we will have 4 places to get food, 2 in the main building, 1 in the E learning building, and 1 in the college cafeteria. The main purpose of the move is to gain more to learn to share. The high school is so lucky to access this type of technology, we will be the envy of all of Alberta because it will be so unique and different. It will be one of the nicest schools in Canada.
